United Way Centraide

United Way is focused on making communities across Canada stronger, healthier, and safer places to live.

Together with volunteers, partners and all levels of government we’re working to find lasting solutions to the biggest social problems facing our communities by addressing the root causes.

We do this by:

  • Influencing public attitudes, systems and policies
  • Focusing on underlying causes of social issues
  • Strengthening the network of services and the capacity of non-profits and the community
  • Engaging and mobilizing the community’s financial resources, influence, time, knowledge and action

When you give to United Way you can be certain that your gift will be invested where it is needed the most and will have the greatest impact in your local community.

For more information on supported programs, projects, initiatives and partnerships in your area, please contact your local United Way.

Today, 87% of those you love — your family, your friends and your colleagues — will likely be affected by a major illness or chronic disease such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, muscular dystrophy and lung disease. As our population ages, more and more people will be affected by a major illness or chronic disease, and this statistic will rise.

In a unique collaboration with HealthPartners, 16 of Canada’s most respected health charities have been working together since 1988. The funds raised by HealthPartners in workplaces across the country, including the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC), are used to support life-saving research that is leading to better treatments, cures and early diagnostic tools to help fight disease, as well as local programs and services that Canadians in need rely on every day.

Please continue to invest in this critical research, these support programs, and education and prevention activities through the GCWCC. Every donation to HealthPartners is a direct donation to the well-being of your workplace, your family, your community and you.

HealthPartners: living proof of your donations at work.
