NSERC/SSHRC Chili Cook-off

NSERC and SSHRC run a joint campaign that includes exciting events such as an Annual Chili cook-off, now four years running. This year the competition was fierce, featuring 26 different chili dishes that were prepared and served by federal employees. There was a panel of four judges including three senior executives and the GCWCC manager, who chose a winner in each of the two categories: traditional/spicy, and vegetarian/alternative.

Other employees were invited to join the festivities by purchasing chili, with proceeds going toward their GCWCC. This was a record year for number of chili dishes showcased, participation, and funds raised by the event. The official campaign launch was on September 7, 2011 and has reached 64% of the goal to date.
