leadership giving
For only $39 per pay, you can create hope and change lives in your community through the GCWCC Leadership Giving program.
STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
Federal employees and retirees play a powerful role in improving the quality of life of Canadians, and many choose to do so through Leadership Giving by making a contribution of $1,000* or more.
By using payroll deduction and dividing the cost of their gift over the entire year, as well as taking advantage of tax benefits, federal employees at all levels find it is not out of their reach to give at the Leadership level.
If you are not already, consider becoming a Leader. Based on tax benefits, an annual Leadership Gift of $1,000 could cost as little as $635, or about $24 for a two-week pay period, depending on where you live in Canada.
YOUR GENEROSITY IS CHANGING LIVES
- $96.15 per pay period provides a homeless man with six months of life skills support and counselling to maintain an alcohol- and drug-free life.
- $38.46 per pay period provides counselling for three young children whose parents have an addiction.
- $25 per pay provides a team of specialized health professionals to educate and counsel families of children diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
- $11.54 per pay period provides specialized services to help a preschooler or senior cope with the emotional effect of vision loss.
Leadership Giving levels may vary in communities across the country. Contact your local United Way/Centraide for more information.
Star giving
Never made a charitable donation through the campaign before? Consider getting on-board at the ‘Star’ level.
For less than a cup of coffee a day, you can make a real difference in the life of someone in your community.
It doesn’t take much to make a difference in someone’s life. For example, between $5 and $15 from each paycheque:
- provides 17 hours of crisis intervention, anger management counselling and other strategies for immigrant young people who are considered high risk;
- provides comprehensive information on managing pain to 600 people living with arthritis;
- pays for two weeks of supervised accommodation in a second-stage housing facility for young adults living on the streets; or
- provides 25 meals to seniors who live in their own homes and need assistance.
You can be a star in someone’s life when you support the GCWCC. To make a donation, speak to your departmental campaign representative or contact your local United Way/Centraide.
