A gift for the future

Suzanne Marineau, a Governent of Canada employee, was very passionate about women and children in need. When she died from cancer six years ago, her husband Ian decided that he wanted to continue her support for United Way and, in doing so, honour his wife’s memory.

Ian - Leaving a legacy of giving

Ian, a longtime community volunteer and supporter, worked with United Way to set up an endowment fund to ensure his wife’s determination to help others would live on in his wife’s memory. The fund’s annual interest goes to support women and children who are in crisis, an issue that was very close to Suzanne’s heart.

For Ian, it’s a way to honour his wife — and ensure she will never be forgotten.

You too have an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of others in your community. For more information about making a legacy gift, contact your local United Way. For more information about the GCWCC, call 1-877-379-6070 or visit www.gcwcc.org
