Federal Government Support for GCWCC
This letter was sent on May 31, 2011 by Treasury Board Secretariat to Deputy Ministers and Heads of Agencies for distribution to all federal government employees.
This fall, federal employees and retirees from coast to coast to coast will once again come together through the annual Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC) to support those who need help most in our communities. As we look forward to 2011, we would like to thank you for your steadfast and generous support in 2010 — with your help, across Canada, we raised a record-breaking $41.67M for United Way/Centraide, Healthpartners/Partenairesanté and other registered Canadian charities.
The GCWCC is a testament to how much we, as federal employees and retirees, care about our communities. Thanks to the support of the Government of Canada, the GCWCC gives us the opportunity to express our core values — to make a difference in our communities and our country by supporting organizations that are close to our hearts.
And you can be sure the GCWCC is in good hands. Every year, as mandated by the Treasury Board of Canada, United Way/Centraide — one of the most trusted names in the charitable sector — manages the annual campaign, and with the support of dedicated volunteers and donors from across the country, the GCWCC remains one of the largest and most successful charitable campaigns in Canada. That's something that we all can be proud of.
We hope you'll choose to be a star in someone's life and join your colleagues in supporting your GCWCC once again this fall.
Thank you.
| Michelle d’Auray Secretary of the Treasury Board |
